Privacy Policy

What Roll Call collects, why, who it's shared with, how long it's kept, and the choices you have. We collect as little as we can to make the camera work.

Who we are

Roll Call ("we", "us") is a service run by Roland Bayor in Ghana. We are responsible for the personal information described here. You can reach us at hello@platinumgroupe.cc.

What we collect

If you host an event:

  • Your email address, to sign you in with a one-time code and to send you messages about your events.
  • The details of your events: name, date, venue, cover photo, team names and settings.
  • If you pay for a plan: a record of the order. Card, mobile money and bank details go straight to our payment providers; we never see or store them.
  • Email addresses you enter to invite people to a private gallery.

If you're a guest:

  • The name you type and the team you pick when you join an event.
  • The photos you take, and when you took them.
  • A random device code, so your phone stays connected to your camera roll.

From everyone:

  • Basic technical information your browser sends, such as your IP address and device type. We use it to deliver the site, keep it secure and stop abuse (for example, rate limits). It sits in short-lived logs and isn't used to profile you.

We don't run ads, we don't sell personal information, and we don't use tracking or advertising cookies.

How we use it

  • To run the service: sign-in, the camera, uploads, the reveal, galleries, sharing, downloads and payments.
  • To keep it safe: photos are checked automatically for explicit content, which is hidden until the host reviews it, and we limit abuse.
  • To talk to you about your account and events (for example, sign-in codes and "your download is ready").
  • To fix problems and improve Roll Call, using aggregate counts rather than individual profiles.
  • To meet legal obligations.

Where the law asks for a legal basis, we rely on: performing our agreement with you (running the service you asked for), our legitimate interests (keeping the service secure and working), your consent where we ask for it, and legal obligations.

Who can see what

  • Photos stay sealed until the event's reveal time. After that, a public gallery can be seen by anyone with its link; a private gallery only by the event's guests and the people the host invites.
  • Hosts can see their guests' names, teams and photos, and can hide, delete and download photos from their events.
  • Guests see the names of the other guests next to their photos.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of providers to run Roll Call. They process information only on our instructions:

  • Cloudflare: hosting, storage of photos and data, email delivery, and automated image checks.
  • Paystack and Polar: payments, when you buy a plan. They handle payment details under their own privacy policies.

We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect people's safety or our rights, or as part of a sale or reorganisation of the business (you'd be told first).

Where it's stored

Our providers run global networks, so your information may be processed outside your country, including outside Ghana and the European Economic Area. Where that happens we rely on our providers' contractual and security safeguards.

How long we keep it

  • Photos are kept for as long as the event's gallery is kept (the host's plan sets this). Hosts can delete photos at any time, and when a gallery's time runs out its photos are deleted.
  • Host accounts are kept until you ask us to delete them. Sign-in codes expire after 10 minutes; sign-in sessions after 30 days.
  • Order records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require.
  • Technical logs are kept for a few days.

Cookies and storage on your device

We only use what the service needs to work. There are no analytics or advertising cookies, so there's nothing to opt out of.

  • Sign-in (hosts): keeps you signed in.
  • Your camera (guests): links your phone to your roll, so you can close the page and come back.
  • Gallery invites and the waiting list: remember that you were invited, or where you are in the queue.
  • On your phone, photos you take while offline are stored in the browser until they upload, then removed.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843), or the EU and UK GDPR), you can ask us to: see the information we hold about you; correct it; delete it; restrict or object to how we use it; or get a copy to take elsewhere. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

Email hello@platinumgroupe.cc and we'll reply within 30 days. If a photo of you is in someone's event, you can also ask the host to remove it. You can complain to your data protection authority; in Ghana that's the Data Protection Commission.

Security

Connections are encrypted, sign-in codes and session tokens are stored only as secure hashes, each event's data is kept separately from every other event's, and uploads go straight to storage. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will tell you if a breach puts it at risk.

Children

Hosts must be 18 or older. Roll Call isn't aimed at children, and guests under 16 should only join with a parent's or guardian's permission. If you think a child has given us information without that, contact us and we'll remove it.

Changes

We'll update this policy as Roll Call changes, and show the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll ask hosts to review it before they carry on. See also our Terms of Service.
